Festival in the Clouds: What to Know Before You Go
Posted May 4, 2025
I recently had the chance to attend an unforgettable ecstatic dance gathering nestled deep in the Costa Rican mountains. The event, held at TierraMor—a regenerative retreat and permaculture farm—was more than just a festival. It was a full-body, soul-expanding experience set on sacred land. Whether you’re dreaming of your own off-grid adventure or planning your first conscious dance retreat, here’s what to know before you go:
Come Prepared: It’s Off-Grid Living
Once you’re up in the mountains, there’s no “running to the store.” Pack intentionally—especially snacks, a cooler if possible, and anything that makes your tent or bunk feel like home. Icemule Coolers (which we carry at Wild Flier) are perfect for these kinds of journeys—lightweight, waterproof, and designed for adventure.
Dance-Friendly Fits
Dress for movement, expression, and connection. At Wild Flier, we carry flowy dresses, harem pants, fringe tops, and bold accessories—festival-ready pieces that feel good on the dance floor and under the stars. While it’s fun to bring your style, don’t miss the chance to support the local vendors at the event too. Some of the most unique treasures are found at pop-up artisan booths.
The Land is Sacred—Respect It
TierraMor is not just a venue—it’s a living ecosystem. Many festivals like this one take place on intentional land projects with spiritual and ecological purpose. Be mindful. Leave no trace. Walk barefoot if you can. Speak to the trees. Be present.
Connection is the Currency
There’s no cell signal, no outside noise—just movement, music, and the people around you. These festivals are a beautiful reminder that community, vulnerability, and joy are always available when we’re brave enough to show up fully.
Follow Wild Flier for more fun, adventure and conscious events!
